On the Issues
Pro-Life and Proud Of It
“There is no such thing as ‘Pro-Choice’ – you’re either standing on the side of protecting the lives God gives us, or you’re standing on the side of taking a life. There is no in between.”
"As a mother of a child with Down syndrome, I understand VERY CLEARLY the value of every life. I believe we must have policies that protect life from conception through natural death. It is a national shame that so many millions of lives have been lost to our nation because of the abortion industry. We will never know the gifts, innovations, and transformational abilities all these people could have brought to mankind, and that is a terrible tragedy."
The 2nd Amendment Protects the Rest
“Liberal gun-control policies only weaken our rights and do nothing to protect us from criminals intent on harming innocent people. Our 2nd Amendment shall not be infringed and I will make sure it stays that way.”
"As an owner of the Texas Gun Club in Stafford, TX, I encourage more Texans to be responsible gun owners to help protect themselves and their families. Our Founding Fathers enshrined this right because they fully understood the need for our citizens to protect themselves from a tyrannical government."
Faith, Family, and Religious Freedom
“My faith in God is central to everything I do and how I live my life.”
"Throughout eight years of the Obama Administration, our faith community was under assault and religious freedoms threatened. As your State Senator, I will be an unapologetic voice to protect our faith, traditional values, and the free practice of our guaranteed Constitutional rights."
Empowering Opportunities for Texans
“Texas has led the nation in job growth and we need to keep it that way. Without critical reforms to protect Texas homeowners, fully fund our school districts, and deliver investments in much needed infrastructure improvements, the future may not shine as brightly for our beloved state.”
"I learned early on how critical a good education was to ensure I could be independent, self-reliant, and a contributing citizen to our great state. We must stop the theft of tax dollars that are intended for our public schools and infrastructure. The State Legislature has kicked the can completely off the road and now we need new leaders who will stop all the talk, take action, and deliver on our Constitutional responsibilities."
Breaking the Back of Criminal Alien Operations in Texas
“For too long our laws to stop illegal immigration have been ignored. Criminal aliens have used our open borders to perpetrate drug smuggling, human trafficking, money laundering, and the rise of criminal alien gangs. We must enforce our laws and secure the border to protect our communities and our children.”
"We are a nation of laws that must be enforced if we are to truly secure our borders and send a message that illegal immigration and the criminal gangs that support this activity will not be tolerated in Texas. To stop this ongoing danger to our communities, we need to bear down on the cities, law enforcement agencies, and local governments that refuse to help protect our citizens from these savage thugs and criminal enterprises."
Holding Austin Accountable
“The politicians in Austin have stopped holding themselves, the agencies they oversee, and the bureaucrats they appoint accountable for the laws they pass. It’s up to WE the People to make sure this happens.”
"We deserve a State Senator who pays attention to our priorities and has the courage to take on the bureaucracies and special interests that take our tax money and don’t follow through on their responsibilities. As the School Board President for the 7th largest District in the state, I have fought to make sure tax dollars are spent appropriately to ensure a quality education for all students and our policies are focused on the success of our children."
Kristin delivers results that others just talk about.
As Fort Bend ISD School Board President and a concerned parent, Kristin led the mission to successfully:
- Cut taxes for hard-working Fort Bend families;
- Increase teacher pay by $2,500 to retain top talent for our students; and
- Deliver reforms to improve school performance and accountability so we have more Texans who are independent, self-reliant, productive taxpayers for our state.
If you want ACTUAL RESULTS and REAL CONSERVATIVE REFORMS – it’s time for New Leadership with Kristin Tassin as our NEXT STATE SENATOR.
Stop the Theft and Tell the Truth
Kristin is a Constitutional conservative who knows we deserve better from our State Legislature. It’s time to elect real leaders who will stop the con-game where the taxes we pay for public education are stolen by the Legislature and used to prop up big spending in Austin.
It’s time to tell the truth about Austin politicians who are not following through on limited government promises. We deserve to have as much power and responsibility remain in the hands of locally elected officials – closer to the people – rather than being hoarded in Austin where politicians protect their own special interests and misspend our tax dollars.
Focused on Delivering Solutions For US
Far too often the people we elect to office and entrust with our vote forget their promises after Election Day has passed. Rather than deliver on the solutions they have promised, we get little more from our politicians than a finger pointing, blame game, and another year gone by when “We the People” are left with frustration, disappointment, and ineffective “leaders”.
Kristin Tassin is looking to change that for our Senate District.
A solutions driven conservative, Kristin has a proven record of getting things done that make a real and positive difference for the families and children she has served. Improving lives and outcomes for our children. Helping make the community around her stronger and more resilient. These are Kristin’s everyday goals as the School Board President for Fort Bend ISD, the seventh largest school district in Texas.
Whether it is:
- Effectively managing the school district’s budget to deliver much deserved TAX CUTS for our families,
- Increasing teacher salaries to retain top talent for our students, or
- Helping struggling schools improve so they are better serving our children,
Kristin Tassin has delivered the conservative results that OTHERS just talk about.
A Lifetime of Overcoming Challenges
Kristin was just seven years old when her parents divorced. Raised by a single mother, Kristin found her way through her steadfast faith in God and an unwavering belief that her education was critical to being able to take care of herself.
Hard work and a talent for music earned Kristin a scholarship to attend LSU where she marched in the Golden Band from Tigerland and performed before tens of thousands of Bayou Bengal fans. She also met her future husband, Shannon, who marched in the band as well. Kristin earned a B.S. in Quantitative Business Analysis – Computer Science Option, graduating in 1993. She went on to earn a Juris Doctorate from LSU Law in 1996. Since 2008, she has served as the Managing Partner for Dry & Tassin, PLLC, specializing in intellectual property law. In 2011, she was named a Texas Rising Star by Texas Super Lawyers Magazine.
“God is Our Father First”
Kristin and Shannon are the very proud parents of three wonderful girls: Abigail, Sarah, and Hannah, all of whom attend schools in Fort Bend ISD.
Just like for all new parents, the birth of their first child, Abigail, promised to bring major changes for the Tassin family. Born with Down syndrome, Abigail has been a true blessing for the Tassins, opening Kristin’s world in a way she could not have previously imagined.
The Tassins founded “Father’s Joy” in 2003 to help support families of children with disabilities. This has led Kristin to be a pioneer in inclusive education and allowed her to help educate school administrators, teachers, parents, and many others on effective ways for Texas public schools to ensure they are equipped and able to teach ALL of our children.
Through Father’s Joy, the Tassins:
- Created the first annual conference in Houston to teach parents, educators and advocates best practices in inclusive education to support children with disabilities;
- Led bible studies to support and care for parents who have children with disabilities; and
- Partnered with Texas Children’s Hospital to teach pediatric interns how to deliver a diagnosis of Down syndrome.
In conjunction with their church, The Bridge Fellowship of Sugar Land, Father’s Joy has also led missions to Kyrgyzstan, Morocco, and Romania where they helped educate, treat, and provide life changing information to families struggling with disabilities. When asked why they were there to help, Kristin simply repeated to these families what she reminds her daughters every week, “God is Our Father First.”
Creating opportunities, delivering solutions, and overcoming challenges have been the characteristics of how Kristin conducts herself and lives her life. Now she is ready to stand up for US and the priorities that matter to our families!
